Meguro

  • Komaba Park and the Museum of Japanese Modern Literature feature a tea house for tourists and literature relating to Japan.
  • Meguro River and the River Museum of Meguro boast many Cherry Blossom trees and is a historical sight for the dying of kimono fabric and the hulling and polishing of rice.
  • Ebisu Garden Place is located on the former site of a beer brewery.  Many restaurants, department stores, office building, hotels, movie theatres and residential high-rises can be found here.
  • The Museum of Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography is one of the few museums in the world (and the only one in Japan) devoted solely to the art of photography.
  • Meguro Museum of Art is renowned for its exhibitions and events that features art work from both Japan and overseas
  • Rinshinomori Park was established as a national forestry research site and contains many unique varieties of trees and flowers.  A wonderful place for forest walks and bird-watching.
  • Himonya Park is one of Meguro’s oldest parks.  Visitors are given the opportunity to rent boats on Benten Pond and enjoy the animals of the area.
  • Salesian Church was built in Romanesque style and is the site of many celebrity weddings in Japan.
  • Komazawa Olympic Park was one of the main locations for the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games and hosted the track and field, soccer, ice hockey, wrestling and volleyball events.  The facility is currently used as a nature park with plenty of greenery and bicycle paths.
  • Jiyugaoka District contains numerous boutiques and restaurants.
