Fukushima is the southernmost prefecture in Tohoku, and the closest to Tokyo. It is divided by mountain ranges into three regions (Aizu, Nakadori and Hamadori). Aizu region has many scenic lakes, Nakadori region is an agricultural area and the Hamadori region lies on the Pacific Ocean and is the flattest and most temperate region in the prefecture. Fukushima hosts several festivals each year.

- Shikinosato is a park modeled on a farming village. The park contains a large water wheel 6m in diameter, as well as a studio where visitors can try glass-blowing. There is also a restaurant and souvenir stores.

- Tohoku Safari Park allows visitors to view animals grazing in wide open spaces. The park is home to approximately 1000 animals including lions, tigers, zebras and giraffes.

- Abukumado Caves are limestone caves with highlights such as the Ryugumon (dragon palace gate), Takine Goten (waterfall hall), Komori no Horaana (bat cave) and Tsuki no Sekai (moonscape).

- Iwaka/Soso region is situated on the Pacific side of Fukushima prefecture and is known as the “beach road”. Attractions (aside from the breathtaking scenery) include a marine park, planetarium, lighthouse, museum and various restaurants and sporting facilities.
